In the Council of the City of Salem, Virginia, at a Regular Meeting Held in the Council
Chamber on February 26, 1968.
WHEREAS, by ordinance duly adopted by the council of the Town of Salem, Virginia,
on March 9, 1967, there was created as a body politic, "The Industrial Development
Authority of the Town of Salem, Virginia"; and
WHEREAS, said authority has at present one project underway; and
WHEREAS, on January 2, 1968, the governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia did proclaim
Salem to be a city of the first class; and
WHEREAS, the council of the City of Salem is desirous of changing the name of "The
Industrial Development Authority of the Town of Salem, Virginia" to "The Industrial
Development Authority of the City of Salem, Virginia."
NOW, THEREFORE, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, BE IT RESOLVED
by the council of the City of Salem as follows:
